OSU football OC Doug Meacham has history of overcoming expectations

STILLWATER — When Chris Stanley first met Doug Meacham on a recruiting visit to Oklahoma State in 1983, Stanley was a bit in awe to learn that Meacham was an offensive lineman.

“He wasn’t what you think an offensive lineman would look like,” said Stanley, who was a high school recruit at the time and later signed with the Cowboys to play alongside Meacham. “He would’ve been a redshirt freshman then, and he probably didn’t weigh 230 pounds.”
