Residents at The Garden at Camp Creek apartments in South Fulton say they counted about 40 gunshots early Friday morning.

Police confirm one of those bullets struck a one-year-old child .

"It makes me nervous. I have children too," said a woman who did not want to be identified.

She told 11Alive's Chase Houle that the shooting came from two directions—one person firing from the tree line while another shot from a nearby patio.

"She was driving past while they were shooting, and her child was shot while she was driving out of the complex," the woman explained.

Neighbors say the violence is nothing new. According to this woman, one tenant regularly throws parties that escalate into fights and gunfire.
