DETROIT -- The Detroit Tigers have activated veteran reliever Kyle Finnegan after a two-week stint on the injured list.
Left-hander Bailey Horn was optioned to Triple-A Toledo in a corresponding move.
Since joining the Tigers from the Washington Nationals at the trade deadline , Finnegan has pitched 14 1/3 scoreless innings, striking out 19 and walking just three.
He felt groin discomfort while warming up in the bullpen on Sept. 1 and was later diagnosed with a mild right adductor strain.
Finnegan said the injury was minor and he never doubted he would return to pitch before the end of the regular season .
Here’s how the Tigers’ pitching staff looks now:
Starting rotation: Left-hander Tarik Skubal; and right-handers Jack Flaherty, Casey Mize, Keider Montero and Charlie Morton
