The Miami Dolphins' season is off to a dreadful start.

A 31-21 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Thursday dropped Miami to 0-3 for the first time since it began the 2019 season 0-7. The Dolphins are struggling mightily in one major department, and it shows why they haven't been able to get over the big-game hump in quite some time.

According to ESPN Insights , Miami is now 3-14 against teams with a record of .500 or better under head coach Mike McDaniel. On the flip side, it is 25-12 against teams with a record below .500 in McDaniel's tenure.

Along with the poor 3-14 record, the Dolphins have lost eight straight regular-season games against teams that entered with winning records, tying their longest losing streak in such games from 2006-08.
