SPARTANBURG, SC (WSPA) - The NCAA Thursday night refuted information in a Field Of 68 story that implied Wofford College basketball players had been served with punitive punishment due to improper use of a campus meal plan.
The Field Of 68 story quoted player agent Mark Peper (who it indicates represents seven Wofford players) saying that the NCAA had ruled six players ineligible Wednesday for between and $84 and $108 misuse of the meal plan due to the fact they lived off campus. Student-athletes who live off camps are not allowed free access to campus meal plans, under NCAA rules.
"To penalize the student athletes for what can only be described as the college's failure to properly communicate with coaching staff is completely unfair, and while the college and I fully expect the NCAA to
