PHOENIX — For the second straight weekend, Valley drivers will have to deal with multiple freeway closures over the weekend.

In its Weekend Freeway Travel Advisory for Sept. 19-22, the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) said stretches of Interstate 10 and U.S. 60 will be closed.

Where will I-10 be closed over the weekend?

The eastbound lanes of I-10 will be closed between the Interstate 17 “Stack” interchange just west of 19th Avenue and the State Route 51/Loop 202 “Mini-Stack” interchange northeast of downtown Phoenix from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Sunday.

This closure is due to scheduled maintenance.

ADOT said drivers who want to avoid the closure can take southbound I-17 around downtown Phoenix and reconnect with I-10 near Sky Harbor International Airport.
