Under the cover of darkness, a 122-year-old building in the heart of downtown Tempe was hoisted onto wheels and slowly rolled through the streets. Flashing lights danced around it as it moved a quarter of a mile north to its new home.

Planners had been working on the effort for months, but it only took one night for the former House of Tricks restaurant to disappear from Seventh Street, reappearing just west of Tempe City Hall.
