With work on the roundabout at Queen’s Line and Merlin Road now in its final stages, the intersection is expected to fully reopen to traffic Sept. 26.
This infrastructure upgrades west of Chatham included the construction of a single-lane roundabout, road safety improvements along the approaches, and rehabilitation of the bridge just west of the intersection over Government Drain No. 1.

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent retained Huron Construction for the work last fall. The total contract was approximately $6 million, funded through $4 million from the capital and right-of-way reserves, and $2 million from the bridge lifecycle reserve.
