Montana, along with attorneys general from 27 other states, is challenging a California law at the US Supreme Court. The law in question bans the possession of large-capacity magazines.
States supporting this request include Idaho and Wyoming. In March, the Ninth Circuit upheld California’s ban on firearm magazines holding more than 10 rounds.
This coalition argues that the ban infringes on the right to keep and bear arms commonly owned for legal reasons such as self-defense hunting and sporting activities.
