NEW MEXICO (KRQE) — After the murder of political activist Charlie Kirk, there is renewed debate about how to have civil discussions in our country. Calling for "Pragmatism over Polarization," New Mexico's Democratic Governor joined Utah's Republican Governor on Friday.

They're from different sides of the political aisle and say they're focusing on overcoming deep divisions in the wake of Charlie Kirk's murder. "When we disagree, making sure it is not angry, that we can bring respect back to these conversations, that's missing in America," said New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham.

The Democrat and Republican were at the University of Notre Dame today in an event focused on ending political polarization. Utah Gov. Spencer Cox has been a vocal advocate for his "Disagree Better" campaign
