GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. —
Officials with the Department of Social Services and Prisma Health's Greenville Memorial Hospital recently accepted an infant safely surrendered under Daniel's Law on Tuesday.
According to DSS, the Hispanic baby girl was born on Sept. 3.
Under the Safe Haven for Abandoned Babies Act, Greenville County DSS took custody of the child.
Officials said a medical evaluation was completed and the infant was placed in a licensed foster home.
DSS said a Permanency Planning Hearing and Termination of Parental Rights Hearing will be held on Oct. 25 at Greenville County Family Court.
DSS said persons who believe they have parental rights to the child are required to attend to assert those rights.
