CLEVELAND, Ohio - A man is dead after officials said he suffered a cardiac arrest while in custody following an incident at a Brunswick gas station.
At 6:45 p.m. Thursday, officers from Brunswick and Brunswick Hills responded to a disturbance call at the BP station on Pearl and Boston roads, according to police.
It’s unclear what prompted the call. Medina County Coroner Lisa Deranek said the man was resisting arrest, and police were trying to get him under control.
Once the man was in custody, he suffered from cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead at Brunswick Cleveland Clinic, Deranek said.
Authorities have not identified the person.
During the incident, police used force against the man, but it is unclear what kind. No officers fired their service weapons or were injured, said Stev
