Taylor Swift has announced a new theatrical event titled "The Official Release Party of a Showgirl," which will debut in theaters on October 3. This event coincides with the release of her upcoming album, "The Life of a Showgirl," also set to launch on the same day.

In an Instagram post, Swift invited fans to a "dazzling soirée" that will run from October 3 to October 5. She stated, "You'll get to see the exclusive world premiere of the music video for my new single 'The Fate of Ophelia,' along with never-before-seen behind-the-scenes footage of how we made it, cut by cut explanations of what inspired this music, and the brand new lyric videos from my new album."

The 89-minute event will be shown in theaters nationwide, including AMC, Cinemark, and Regal locations. Swift encouraged fans to wear their favorite outfits from her Eras Tour, saying, "Looks like it's time to brush off that Eras Tour outfit or orange cardigan… Tickets are on sale now. Dancing is optional but very much encouraged."

Tickets for the event are priced at $12, a nod to Swift's 12th album, which features 12 songs. Fans experienced long wait times on the AMC app when tickets went on sale at 12:12 p.m. ET on Friday, reflecting the high demand for the event.

AMC reported that the app and website experienced heavy traffic, displaying a message about wait times. Once fans reached their turn, they had 10 minutes to complete their ticket purchase.

The event will also feature international screenings in over a dozen countries, with additional regions to follow later in October. The screenings will begin simultaneously at 3 p.m. ET on October 3.

Swift's previous theatrical release, "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour," was a significant success, grossing over $260 million worldwide. The upcoming release party is expected to continue this trend, showcasing Swift's innovative approach to album launches through theatrical events.
