ST. LOUIS - A Florissant man was sentenced to decades behind bars over a deadly St. Louis street-racing crash.

Jaron Sims, 47, was sentenced to 40 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections.

According to court documents, the crash happened on July 8, 2022, in the 2000 block of St. Louis Avenue—located in the St. Louis Place neighborhood. Evidence presented by prosecutors claimed that Sims and another driver were speed racing.

Both drivers ran a red light at North 20th Street, and during this, Sims ended up crashing into another vehicle, which was carrying three occupants.

Court records say Adrianne Holloway, 63, a 2-year-old child and the child’s father were the victims in the vehicle. All three sustained serious injuries, and Holloway passed away three days later in the hospital.
