Longtime Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve is always going to stand up for her players, sometimes in entertaining fashion.
On Thursday, Lynx center Alanna Smith and Las Vegas Aces star A'ja Wilson were both named co-Defensive Player of the Year in the WNBA after the two tied with 29 votes apiece from a 72-person media panel.
Later that day, Aces head coach Becky Hammon was asked about that situation prior to Las Vegas's decisive Game 3 against the Seattle Storm. She answered pretty bluntly.
"I guess I'm a little confused by the 'co,'" Hammon said. "Because Napheesa (Collier), you guys said, was the best defensive player (on the Lynx) last year, and now she's not. I mean, I don't know.
