GLENDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — Security remains top of mind as thousands are prepared to gather in the West Valley to commemorate the life of conservative political activist and podcaster Charlie Kirk this weekend.

According to CBS News, while several law enforcement agencies are tracking “several threats of unknown credibility,” federal officials report there is no evidence suggesting a “verified or credible plot against the event” scheduled for Sunday.

In Arizona, Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell released a statement, saying that she would defend the rights of those who “come to mountain or peacefully.”
