A man whose conviction and death sentence for murdering three brothers within three days was overturned by the California Supreme Court was sentenced Friday to life in prison without the possibility of parole about three months after being found guilty again of the shootings that occurred in Inglewood nearly 24 years ago.
Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Ronald S. Coen said Craigen Lewis Armstrong’s “good acts” behind bars “do not outweigh the horrendous acts he committed.”
“I hope you will continue to do well, but there is no mercy here,” the judge said in denying requests by the 44-year-old inmate’s supporters to give Armstrong hope that he could be paroled one day.
