Portland Mayor Keith Wilson called for an “immediate” investigation into federal use of force against nonviolent protesters captured on video this week.

In footage published Friday by The Oregonian/OregonLive, U.S. Department of Homeland Security officers are seen repeatedly shoving, spraying and hitting protesters outside the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement building in South Portland even as protesters make no obvious physical threats.

The first officer then used his shield to shove two protesters to the ground, including one who had her back turned to that officer.
