BRIDGEPORT, CT. (WFSB) - The New York Giants named Bridgeport Central High School’s head football coach their Lou Rettino Coach of the Week.

Brendan Miller led the Hilltoppers win their first game since 2017 against Wilbur Cross 21-8.

The team had lost 61 games in a row, the longest active streak in the state and one away from the state record.

The award is part of the Giants’ effort to support local high school football programs.

The Giants Foundation and Gatorade will donate $2,000 to the school’s football program. Miller will receive a certificate of recognition signed by head coach Brian Daboll, be honored at a dinner following the season and at a 2026 pre-season home game.

Miller is a PE teacher at the school and is in his third year as it’s head coach.
