PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- The Greater Peoria Economic Development Council (GPEDC) has received a three-year, $210,000 grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration to support its planning and programming efforts.
The funding provides $70,000 each year, matched locally by investors and partner organizations, and becomes part of GPEDC’s base operational budget.
CEO Chris Setti says the grant allows the organization to continue its mission of attracting businesses, strengthening the workforce, and supporting regional projects.
“This base funding helps us work with stakeholders, businesses, community leaders, and nonprofits to really drive the economy forward,” Setti said.
The grant also supports the creation of a new five-year comprehensive economic development strategy.
