D4vd's world tour has hit a bump in the road amid a police investigation reportedly involving the singer and TikTok sensation.

D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, was set to perform in San Francisco on Friday, Sept. 19, and Los Angeles on Saturday, Sept. 20, as part of his Withered World Tour. However, the event pages for both performances now state that the shows have been canceled.

The tour kicked off Aug. 5 in Del Mar, California, and had visited cities including Dallas, Atlanta, New York, Philadelphia and Detroit.

A reason for the cancellations was not disclosed. USA TODAY has reached out to representatives for the concert venues, The Warfield and The Greek Theatre, and d4vd for comment.

Earlier this month, d4vd was reportedly linked to a police investigation in Los Angeles involving the body of a teenage girl found inside an impounded vehicle.

The indie pop singer, who broke out on TikTok with viral hits like "Here with Me" and "Romantic Homicide," was also scheduled to take the tour abroad with shows in Norway, Denmark, The Netherlands, Germany, England and other territories. But many of these events also show cancellation notices online or have been removed altogether.

The tour cancellation comes after Sony Music Publishing suspended promotion of d4vd's debut album, "Withered," as authorities' investigation continues, a source close to the situation but not authorized to speak publicly confirmed to USA TODAY on Sept. 19. The alternative R&B record, which was released in April, peaked at No. 13 on the Billboard 200 chart.

D4vd investigation identifies Celeste Rivas as victim found dead in singer's car

Celeste Rivas died on Sept. 8 at the age of 15, according to online records from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner. Rivas' cause of death is currently listed as "deferred," which means the teen's exact cause of death has not been disclosed and is pending further investigation.

The medical examiner noted that Rivas' place of death was a vehicle.

According to NBC4 Los Angeles and ABC 7, Rivas was the body discovered inside an impounded Tesla that was left at a tow yard in Hollywood. The news organizations reported that the vehicle is registered under d4vd's name.

LAPD officers responded to the 1000 block of Mansfield Avenue on Sept. 8 after reports that a foul odor was coming from the vehicle, Officer Drake Madison told USA TODAY in an email on Sept. 9. Police were unable to confirm the identity of the vehicle's owner at the time.

The human remains were reportedly found inside a bag, which was located in the front trunk of the Tesla, per NBC and ABC. Authorities told the outlets that the body was in a state of decomposition.

During its early investigation of Rivas' death, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner reported that the teen's body "was found severely decomposed inside a vehicle" and appeared to "have been deceased inside the vehicle for an extended period of time before being found," according to a statement shared with USA TODAY on Sept. 18.

A representative for dv4d previously told NBC that the singer had been informed of the investigation and was "fully cooperating with the authorities."
