FLUVANNA COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Fluvanna Horizons Alliance will hold a community meeting to discuss a proposed second gas-fired power plant in the county on Monday at Cunningham Creek Winery and Brewery at 7 p.m.

"A new plant would increase air pollution, require an extra six to seven million gallons of water daily from the James River and release 1.5 million gallons daily into the Rivanna River," said Tracey Smith with Fluvanna Horizons Alliance. "The costs to the community — higher health care expenses, environmental damage and lower property values — will outweigh any tax benefits."
