The City of Evansville has announced the expansion of its METS Micro transit program into the Jacobsville neighborhood, thanks to a generous grant from Deaconess Health System. The addition extends the program by .4 square miles, bringing 800 more residents into the service area. With this expansion, METS Micro now covers 20.5 square miles and serves 66,900 Evansville residents.
Key Evansville Destinations Served
The new Jacobsville zone, launching Monday, September 22, connects riders to several important Evansville destinations, including the Civic Center, Ford Center, Victory Theatre, CK Newsome Center, Old National Events Plaza, Denton Federal Building, USPS, and Deaconess Midtown Hospital. This makes commuting to jobs, health care, and community events more convenient than ever.
