ASHLAND, Ohio (WJW) - The U.S. Secret Service has been asked to investigate a local Democratic Party for recent activity at the Ashland County Fair.

The party distributed political buttons with messages that some are calling overtly threatening toward President Donald Trump.

The Ashland County Fair board believes, at the very least, this violates the rules given to exhibitors, but the sheriff is also questioning whether it could be criminal.

On Thursday, in the exhibitor's barn, the fair board received complaints about buttons being distributed by the Democratic Party.

"This particular incidence was a red ball cap with 'Felon' across the top of it and 'Is he dead yet' and some other innuendos about his obituary and we are referring to the president of the United States," Ashland County
