TRICITIES, Wash. – A local Turning Point USA chapter in the TriCities honored Charlie Kirk with a tribute event at Howard Amen Park. Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, was tragically shot and killed in Utah on September 10 while on his Prove Me Wrong Tour.
Sophomore Avery Latendress, the chapter president, emphasized the importance of unity during the tribute.
“We should just talk guys, seriously,” Latendress said. “It doesn’t matter what side you are. We’ve lost a good person who is a father a husband and seriously just calm down. We’re losing good people every day.”
The event featured a prayer and speakers who remembered Kirk’s contributions. Latendress shared that Kirk was a significant mentor to her and inspired her to pursue politics.
