MEMPHIS, Tenn. — More details have been released in the incoming National Guard deployment in Memphis.

While talking with reporters in Oak Ridge on Friday, Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee said the U.S. Marshalls Service will be the primary organizer of the federal agencies coming to Memphis.

The governor also asserted that the Memphis Police Department will be helping with the strategy, adding that Chief CJ Davis has been involved in conversations regarding the FBI operation in Shelby County for months and will now be involved in the deployment of the federal resources.

"What my plan is that this will be a force multiplier to the Memphis Police Department," Lee said.

When asked about a deployment date, Lee said one had not been set.
