Nearly 600 people packed The Barn Sept. 18 for the first game of the inaugural campaign for Cloverdale HC.

After all the adversity, team owner Ronnie Paterson said he was relieved the team was finally on the ice, after a two-week delay to the start of the club’s Pacific Junior Hockey League (PJHL) season.

“It’s a tremendous relief for our players, their families, our coaching staff, and even the community,” Paterson told the Cloverdale Reporter. “The amount of support we've gotten from the community over the last few weeks has been incredible. So, to get here tonight, and turn it around in 24 hours, is pretty special for all of us.”
