Baton Rouge Teacher Arrested After Drug Search at Middle School

Authorities in Baton Rouge say a middle school math teacher was arrested after a random drug search uncovered both cocaine and marijuana in her possession. The incident occurred at Westdale Middle School, where a drug-sniffing K-9 was brought in as part of a routine sweep.

Investigators reported that the dog alerted to a wallet belonging to the teacher, later identified as 46-year-old Virginia Summers. Inside, officers discovered a suspicious substance that field-tested positive for cocaine. The search did not end there—law enforcement proceeded to examine Summers’ vehicle, where they allegedly found marijuana and smoking pipes.
