LINCOLN, Neb. —
Nebraska corrections said some of the repairs at the state penitentiary are wrapping up.
The roof was ripped off housing units in August during a storm.

Nebraska Department of Correctional Services said one unit has been completely repaired, so all the inmates who were being housed in Tecumseh are now back in Lincoln.
The second damaged housing unit is expected to be ready for inmates to move back in by the end of the month.
“Our staff rose to the occasion in every way following this natural disaster,” said Director Rob Jeffreys. “They worked as one team from the start—keeping people safe and driving a fast, effective recovery. What we saw here is the result of preparation, commitment, and a strong team culture.”
