SANTEE, Calif. (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A drug-laced letter sent to the Las Colinas Detention and Reentry Facility in Santee has resulted in an arrest.

Jay Tony Naotala, 55, of North County, was booked into the Vista Detention Facility on several charges, including bringing a controlled substance into jail, the San Diego County Sheriff's Office (SDSO) said in a news release Friday.

On June 17, the Sheriff's Mail Processing Center intercepted a narcotic-laced letter sent through the U.S. Mail to an incarcerated person housed at the Las Colinas Detention and Reentry Facility.

The arrest of Naotala was made Friday at the North County Superior Court, where he was attending an unrelated court hearing, authorities said.
