The major difference Brock sees in this year’s Apple Cup

The two in-state rivals will meet at 4:30 p.m. Saturday in Pullman, marking the second straight year they have matched up in September.

In 2024, the Cougars won 24-19 in the first Apple Cup since the dissolution of the old Pac-12. That was held at the neutral site of Seattle’s Lumen Field.

The Apple Cup was traditionally played on the weekend after Thanksgiving, but it was moved to an early-season matchup for the foreseeable future after UW left for the Big Ten, making the Apple Cup a non-conference game.
