Nathan Rourke made history Friday night.

The B.C. Lions quarterback set a new single-season CFL passing mark by a Canadian, previously held by the legendary Russ Jackson (since 1969), leading the Lions to a 52-23 win over the host Calgary Stampeders at McMahon Stadium.

Rourke tossed for 331 yards and two touchdowns, and also ran for three more majors. He surpassed Jackson's single-season Canadian standard of 3,641 passing yards and also moved past Doug Flutie (9,579 yards) for eighth on the all-time B.C. yardage list.
