CALUMET — Calumet was treated to a performance of “Oliver!, The Musical” a stage play based off of the Charles Dickens 1838 novel Oliver Twist, on Thursday and Friday from the Calumet Players.

Anyone who witnessed the show requesting, “Please sir, I want some more,” will have Saturday, and Sept. 26-28, to view the play again, while those who have not yet seen the show the chance to plan for a trip to the Calumet Theatre to see it.

The musical first made it to the U.S. in 1963.

Oliver tells the story of an orphan, Oliver, who joins a pickpocket group after being thrown out from a workhouse. When Oliver is caught pickpocketing, he is taken in by a Mr. Brownlow and, as the play progresses, Oliver learns more about himself and Mr. Brownlow.
