A new 12-unit, four-storey apartment building has been approved for a prime location along Lakeshore Drive West in Penticton.

Following a presentation by planning and licensing manager Audrey Tanguay at Tuesday's regular council meeting, council voted in support of the new apartment block, which will be located at 594 Lakeshore Drive West.

The building will be situated across from Okanagan Lake, in an area of Lakeshore Drive West that is primarily residential and located close to public parks and popular beaches, said Tanguay.

The site is currently zoned for small-scale, multi-unit residential use.
