MEDINA, Ohio – The community is preparing for a few days of school spirit when homecoming weekend kicks off Thursday Oct. 9.

“This year’s theme is World of Imagination and we are very excited about that,” said Amy Busby, community relations director for Medina City Schools. “We are also integrating America 250 into the theme as we are celebrating 250 years of the United States so we are asking those who are participating in the homecoming parade to nuance that into whatever they are planning to do for the parade.”

Busby said the parade will kick off Thursday at 6 p.m. at Garfield and will head down Broadway to Union Street and then to the high school.

“We will not be going around the square,” she said. “We have not done that for years due to the traffic on the square at that hour.”
