Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, chairman of the Hurriyat Conference, on Saturday made a notable visit to Abdul Gani Bhat's residence to offer condolences to the grieving family.

Recently freed from house detention, Mirwaiz traveled to Botingoo, Sopore, to pay respect to Bhat, the former Hurriyat chairman, who passed away at 90. Recognized as a moderate voice in separatist circles, Bhat's death marks a significant loss.

The Mirwaiz's office released a statement expressing profound sorrow at Bhat's passing, reflecting on their close relationship. Bhat was remembered as a guide and an advocate for dialogue and moderation in conflict resolution.
