The Himachal Pradesh Vocational Teachers’ Association has appealed to the state government to give priority to private security students under the newly launched Traffic Volunteer Scheme in Himachal Pradesh.
The scheme, introduced by the government, offers an honorarium of ₹40 per hour to citizens assisting in traffic management and road safety. According to the association, Class 12 students trained in the Private Security vocational subject are well-suited for the role as they already possess skills in discipline, safety, and regulation.
The association stated that engaging vocationally trained youth in this initiative will not only create new employment opportunities in Himachal Pradesh but also inspire more students to pursue skill-based education and vocational training.
