FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — It took a little bit longer than expected, but rookie defensive lineman Derrick Harmon made his NFL debut against the Patriots. And it didn’t take him long to make his presence felt.
Harmon registered the first of the Steelers’ five sacks on New England’s opening drive of the game.
“I felt good,” said Harmon, the Steelers' No. 1 pick in this year’s draft. “I just have to keep stacking these and get better.”
Harmon sprained the MCL in his right knee in the final preseason game against Carolina and missed the first two games of the season. He was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday and Thursday and went through a full practice on Friday. On Saturday, he found out he was going to play.
