Following the Union Government’s recent GST reforms, Kerala’s Milma has reduced prices on around 100 value-added dairy products, ghee, butter, paneer, ice creams etc., effective immediately.
In Milma’s case, 1-litre ghee falls from Rs 720 to Rs 675; 500-ml paneer drops from Rs 245 to about Rs 234.
Meanwhile, in Karnataka, the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) has announced price cuts on its “Nandini” line of products starting September 22. GST on ghee, butter, cheese, snacks has come down from 12% to 5%, and on some paneer & UHT milk from 5% to zero.
Nandini ghee (1-litre pouch) is now Rs 650 ? Rs 610; butter (500 g) Rs 305 ? Rs 286; paneer (1 kg) Rs 425 ? Rs 408. These cuts aim to pass on full GST benefit to consumers.
