Since the ratio of bad news versus good news coming out of the Trump administration is 90% to 10%, at best, it is time to adopt a new strategy in combating the abuses of democratic norms by Trump and his minions.

In Amish culture, the most severe form of punishment for serious violations of their beliefs is a practice called shunning. My basic knowledge of how this works is that the offender is cut off from all interaction with not only family members, but also members of the entire community. It is somewhat akin to the term “Death for the dead” in the movie “Beetlejuice” (the original one). For a society such as the Amish, this would be an unbearable punishment, it would seem.
