HOUSTON (KIAH) — According to the National Weather Service (NWS), showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop ahead of an approaching cold front on Wednesday.
Timing: Isolated showers and thunderstorms may begin as early as sunrise Wednesday along the coast. The front is expected to pass through in the morning, along I-10 in the evening, and then near the coast Wednesday night into Thursday morning.
Impacts: Strong storms possible, bringing heavy rain and strong winds. The cold front may linger near the coast through Thursday morning, potentially leading to heavy rainfall.
A few of these storms may become strong to severe through late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning, capable of producing locally heavy rainfall leading to isolated street flooding.
