RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) -- A ferry route at the North Carolina coast will run on a modified schedule this week as filming continues of the final season of the Netflix teen drama "Outer Banks," officials said.
The Southport-Fort Fisher ferry across the Cape Fear River will be impacted on Friday while filming is underway for Season 5 of the hit TV series, the North Carolina Department of Transportation said.
"Outer Banks" production will be based at the Southport terminal, the NCDOT said.
"The crew plans to shoot scenes aboard the M/V Fort Fisher, one of two boats on the route," a DOT news release said.
The ferry route involves a North Carolina island -- but it's not at the Outer Banks, which are further north and east. • Austin North, from left, Rudy Pankow, Madelyn Cline, Drew Starkey,
