WASHINGTON — The 12-foot statue of President Donald Trump and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein holding hands that appeared on the National Mall on Tuesday morning was removed by United States Park Police early Wednesday, despite a permit that would've allowed the art to stand through the weekend.
An anonymous group called The Secret Handshake took credit for the installation. The statue, made mostly of foam and wire painted bronze, depicted the two men in a prancing pose.
A permit for the statue said it was allowed to remain on the mall until 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, but eyewitness video posted to Reddit showed it being hauled away Wednesday morning . Park Police said that it was removed for not being in compliance with the permit, but they did not explain how it violated th
