Members of the Utah- and Idaho-based cultural group Yocochcayoco demonstrate Aztec dance during the Hailey Hispanic Heritage Festival in Hailey’s Town Center West on Saturday. Drums used during the demonstration were intended to capture the attention of the Aztec gods, while smoke was used to cleanse the area of bad spirits. “Our culture connects the community,” Festival organizer Herbert Romero said. “We continue to build neighborhoods through respect, courage and compassion. It was an amazing and impactful turnout.”
