HILTON HEAD ISLAND — Two longtime lovers will be back at it on a South Carolina barrier island in the coming weeks.

A pair of bald eagles named Gracie and George have been spotted on Hilton Head.

The winged duo returned to their annual nesting place. According to Hilton Head Land Trust President Robin Storey, the eagles have held this timeshare for 14 years.

The birds were first seen in the nest this season on Aug. 17. Over the past month, they have built up the rails of their home. They will mate in October and November, Storey said.

If they choose to copulate in the nest, finding privacy will be a challenge. The Land Trust trains a live camera on the nest.
