The Guntersville Police Department says the driver of a white pickup truck involved in a wreck with a Guntersville City School bus Wednesday morning sustained serious injuries.

The wreck occurred about 6:44 a.m. on Highway 431 North at the intersection of Buck Island Drive.

The driver of the white truck was transported by ambulance to Huntsville Hospital.

Police say, at the time of the incident, there were seven children on board the school bus and that one child was transported to the hospital for observation. However, Guntersville City Schools confirmed earlier Wednesday no students were injured.

Police say the remaining children were evaluated at the scene by Guntersville Fire Department medics and were subsequently released back to school.
