FAIRVIEW, N.C. —
Eleven family members died in a massive mudslide when Hurricane Helene hit Western North Carolina last year.
Generations of the Craig family had lived on that land for at least the last 70 to 80 years.
Sister station WXII sat down with Bryan Craig to learn more about his loved ones whose lives were lost that day.
"I can tell you how it was," Craig said. "But if you didn't see it — words can't describe it."
While it's hard to find the words, it's a feeling that Craig still carries with him every day.
"Day by day," he said. "Some days are better than others."
