A former Oakland County doctor is headed to prison for multiple felonies connected to opioid distribution out of an Oak Park warehouse operating as a sham clinic.

Charise Valentine, 69, of Southfield was sentenced Tuesday in federal court in Detroit to six years incarceration for conspiracy to unlawfully distribute prescription opioids — including oxycodone and oxymorphone — and 10 counts of illegal distribution of oxycodone and oxymorphone. She was convicted at the conclusion of a jury trial last April .

Valentine illegally prescribed more than 200,000 opioid pills with a value exceeding $5.2 million, officials said.

The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Terrence Berg, who presided over Valentine’s trial.
