A Celtic fan was rushed to hospital after being attacked in Belgrade the night before the Hoops' opening match in the Europa League. ‌

A 34-year-old man was reportedly rushed to hospital on Tuesday, September 23, after an altercation between a group of 'hooligans' and fans wearing Celtic strips, who had travelled to Serbia ahead of tonight's clash with Red Star Belgrade. ‌

The scene on Zmaj Jovina, in the city centre was left in chaos following the fight, with tables and chairs overturned and bottles 'flying in all directions', according to local news site Telegraf.rs. ‌

The outlet said it was not clear who was attacking who, although the Celtic fans were approached by the group of thugs.. It added that the man was taken to A&E after being injured.
