BEAUFORT, S.C. (WSAV) — A Grays Hill man was sentenced on Wednesday to 10 years in prison for a 2019 shooting in which he pleaded guilty.
Alexander Xavier Smalls, 26, pleaded guilty to assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and possessing a weapon during commission of a violent crime.
On Oct. 22, 2019, Smalls was reportedly arguing with a woman before firing two warning shots and then shooting her in the leg.
The case was prosecuted in the 14th Circuit Solicitor's Office.
Smalls also has three separate pending charges, as he is accused of attempted murder, aggravated breach of peace and possession of a weapon during commission of a violent crime in connection to a 2023 shooting in Beaufort County.
